Gonda: Teachers from Block Mujehna in Gonda submitted a memorandum opposing the mandatory requirement of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for in-service teachers, following a call by the Akhil Bharatiya Sanyukt Shikshak Mahasangh.
The initiative was led by Sharad Kumar Singh under the banner of the Uttar Pradeshiya Prathmik Shikshak Sangh. Teachers from various schools in Block Mujehna jointly signed and sent the memorandum through postcards and emails to several top constitutional authorities.
The memorandum was addressed to Droupadi Murmu, Narendra Modi, Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, Yogi Adityanath, the Union and state education authorities, and the Leader of the Opposition, urging reconsideration of the decision to make TET mandatory for teachers already serving in schools.
According to the teachers, the campaign aims to draw the attention of policymakers to the concerns of educators regarding the implementation of the requirement. They believe that the decision may create difficulties for many experienced teachers who have been serving in the education system for years.

Several office bearers and teachers participated in the initiative, including district vice-president Rajeev Kumar, block organisation minister Vijay Kumar, block vice-president Bhanu Prakash Verma, along with Janak Ram Verma, Ajit Verma, Shivkumar Verma, Sanjay Kumar and Ashutosh Dwivedi. Many other teachers from different schools of the block were also present.
The participating teachers expressed hope that the authorities would take their concerns into consideration and initiate dialogue on the issue.
